Travel to one of Chicago’s great institutions and award winning restaurants with the Kankakee Valley Park
District! Founded in 1961 by teacher and art historian Dr. Margaret Burroughs and other leading Chicago citizens,
the DuSable Museum is one of the few independent institutions of its kind in the United States. Developed to preserve and interpret the experiences and achievements of people of African descent, it is dedicated to the collection, documentation, preservation and study of the history and culture of Africans and African Americans. Lunch is not included in the fee of this trip.

Chicago Flower and Garden Show

Starved Rock State Park: Waterfall & Canyon Tour
Experience the fun of the outdoor adventure at Starved Rock State Park with a guided walk to three spectacular waterfalls and canyons. You’ll see French, St. Louis, and Ottawa canyons. The Kankakee Valley Park District is happy to be returning to the Shipshewana Flea Market. Shop “till you drop” is more than just a saying in Shipshewana! If hunting fortreasures through the 1,000 plus Flea Market vendors is not enough to make you drop, you can walk across the street to the Trading Place Antique Gallery, or walk the short distance to the wide variety of shops downtown. For this trip, lunch is on your own so you may choose your eatery or restaurant.
