BUDGET HEARING 

A Budget Hearing of the Board of Park Commissioners of the Kankakee Valley Park District of Kankakee County, Illinois was held on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 4:45 p.m. at the Park District Administrative Office in the Bird Park, 893 W. Station Street, Kankakee, Illinois.   The meeting was called to order by Vice President Gathing and roll call was taken. 

The following Commissioners were present and constitute a quorum: 

Collins

Hollis

Gathing

Mullady 

Commissioner Grill was absent. 

Staff attending the meeting: Jim Romanek, Renee Chavez, John Bessette, Marlana Hunter and Dee Osenglewski. 

Members of the public present: Alderman James R. Cox, Jeff Mayo  

Press present: Scott Boehmer, The Daily Journal 

Vice President Gathing called the Budget Hearing to order at 4:45 p.m. 

Commissioner Gathing asked if anyone had any questions or comments about the budget as presented to the Board. 

Alderman Cox stated that he has submitted suggestions that Pioneer Park and Old Fair Park have been neglected for years and he would like to have an answer in writing. Commissioner Gathing indicated that this did not fall under the Budget Hearing and that Alderman Cox’s concerns would be brought back into the records under the normal session of the Parks & Recreation Committee. 

Attorney John Coghlan arrived at 4:48 p.m. 

Commissioner Gathing asked if there were any other, questions or comments in regards to the Budget Hearing.

On motion by Commissioner Mullady, seconded by Commissioner Collins to adjourn the meeting: 

All in favor – all ayes.
