SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS 

A special meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners of the Kankakee Valley Park District of Kankakee County, Illinois, was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 4:50 p.m. at the Bird Park Fieldhouse, 893 W. Station St., Kankakee, Illinois.   The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Gathing and roll call was taken. 

The following Commissioners were present and constitute a quorum:           

            Collins

            Hollis

Mullady

Gathing

Grill 

Staff attending the meeting was Attorney John Coghlan, Jim Romanek, Renee Chavez, John Bessette, and Dee Osenglewski. 

Members of the public present:  None 

Press present:  None 

Commissioner Gathing led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Commissioner Gathing advised that this was a public hearing to receive public comments on the proposal to sell, not to exceed $590,000, Limited Tax Park Bonds for the payment of land condemned or purchased for parks, for the building, maintaining, improving, and protecting, of the same and the existing land and facilities of the District, and for the payment of the expenses incident hereto.  All persons desiring to be heard have an opportunity to present written or oral testimony with respect thereto. 

There were no questions from the Board. 

On motion by Commissioner Collins, seconded by Commissioner Grill, staff was authorized to proceed with solicitation of bids and bond ordinance preparation:

            Grill                              Aye 

On motion by Commissioner Grill, seconded by Commissioner Hollis to adjourn the meeting: 

All in favor – all ayes.
