A Truth in Taxation Hearing for the Kankakee Valley Park District of Kankakee County, Illinois was held on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. at the Park District Office in the Parkview Activity Center, 175 S. Wall Street, Kankakee, Illinois. The meeting was called to order by President Denoyer and roll call was taken.

The following Commissioners were present and constitute a quorum:

Staff attending the meeting was David O’Connell, Attorney Jamie Boyd, Laurie Yoder, John Bessette, Gloria Giese, and Julie Schatz.

Members of the public present:  Nyande Nonis, Gerry Gund, Jimmy Joines, Norm Strasma, Beth Ricciardi, and Cecile LaMore Enright

Press present:  Scott Boehmer

Commissioner Grill led attendees in Pledge of Allegiance.

Attorney Jamie Boyd explained that the hearing was advertised in the Journal and that the purpose of the hearing was to extend taxes to a particular amount.

Attorney Jamie Boyd directed the President to ask for a motion for passage of what was advertised.

On motion by Commissioner Gathing, seconded by Commissioner Grill to pass the tax levy ordinance.

On roll call the vote was as follows:

On motion by Commissioner Grill, seconded by Commissioner Gathing to adjourn the meeting.
