The Kankakee Valley Park District (KVPD) is proud to announce a momentous celebration marking its 100th anniversary—a century of parks, people, and progress. To honor this remarkable milestone, KVPD will host its Centennial Gala on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Bill Spriggs Civic Auditorium, located at 803 S. 8th Ave. in Kankakee.
This elegant evening will feature live entertainment by the Southside Social Club, a gourmet sit-down dinner catered by The Bennett-Curtis House, cocktails, raffle prizes, and a silent auction—all benefiting a cause that gives back to the community. Proceeds from the event will provide over 7,200 hours of free summer camp to Kankakee residents in 2026, ensuring that local children have the opportunity to experience summer fun, friendship, and personal growth regardless of financial barriers.
Since its founding in 1925, the Kankakee Valley Park District has been dedicated to enriching the lives of the community by developing and maintaining parks, preserving natural and historical resources, and offering recreational programs for all ages. Today, KVPD proudly serves more than 28,000 residents across Aroma Park and Kankakee Townships, continuing its legacy of fostering connection, wellness, and outdoor enjoyment.
