Join KVPD and the Kankakee Couty Soil and Water Conservation District for a four week outdoor education program. Participants will learn many aspects of the outdoors such as soil, the ecosystem, plant, bugs and much more!
Class Schedule:
Week 1 - Soil Savers
Soil is alive! Join us as we learn about the tiny world beneath our feet and why we need to save our soils. create a mini composter to take home.
Week 2 - Eco Explorers
Kankakee County is home to many unique ecosystems. From lakes and rivers to prairie and forests, explore different habitats and the animals that live there through an exciting scavenger hunt!
Week 3 - Awesome Blossoms
Illinois was once covered by millions of acres of prairie, but now only about 2500 acres remain! Join us to learn about native plans and get wild as a wildflower with our creative sun printing activity.
Week 4 - Bug Busters
We're on the hunt for insects! Join us to learn more about butterflies, beetles and other bugs - and why they aren't so "creepy" after all. Who you gonna call? Bug busters!
