Throughout this difficult time, we have reduced expenses, reduced staffing, continue to maintain our parks with a reduction in staff and remained fiscally responsible. Our priority is to provide parks and recreation for our community. Staff has spent the last several months developing plans and implementing modifications that will provide enriching experiences, while adhering to the guidelines provided by local health officials and the Restore Illinois Plan. Modifications will allow for:
As of today, Region 7 has moved into Phase 4 of the reopening plan. All information regarding what is allowed can be found at:
Groups of 50 can be on the ice and 50 spectators allowed. Hockey is still considered higher risk but can play at Level 3 which consists of intraconference, intraregional, or intra league play and meets/games. Figure Skating is in the lower risk category. They can do Level 1-4 which consists of competitions, championships, out of state play, etc.
All outdoor recreation is open. Indoor recreation can be at a maximum of 50 participants. We will begin to accept reservations for open gym basketball.
We will allow rentals of the following facilities and capacity. Beckman-45, Bird-30, Goselin-30, Jeffers-15, Rec Center classrooms-16, Rec Center gym-50.
As usual, our trails and playgrounds remain open and available for your outdoor recreational needs.
Anyone entering any of our facilities must wear a face covering, maintain social distance, wash hands often.

For the safety of our employees and to comply with social distancing best practices, our facilities are closed during the stay‐at‐home order. Our Maintenance Operations Staff continues to perform essential services such as mowing and trash collection in our parks. The safety of our staff is a top priority. Staff members are working individually or in small crews to ensure proper social distancing is maintained while completing tasks. Personal protective equipment including masks, gloves, and disinfectant products are also available to our staff. We ask that you help our staff by minimizing the trash left in our parks. Please use the proper trash receptacles or carry out any litter during your visit including tissues, gloves, or pet waste.
Yes, our Operations staff is also busy at work preparing our facilities for when we are able to welcome you back. Staff has accomplished the following during this time:
- Deep cleaned facilities
- Disinfected all surfaces
- Cleaned carpeted areas
At this time, we are following state and local orders. We are hopeful that we will be able to safely reopen our office soon. All events and programming will be dependent on future modifications and restrictions as per the Governor’s Orders. Please continue to check our website for updates.

Refunds will automatically be processed for cancelled programs and events. You do not need to request a refund. We appreciate your patience as we work to process all refunds as quickly as possible. Refunds will go back to your original form of payment (cash payments will be refunded by check).
